After trying to work out where to start I thought ... why not the beginning
A few years ago – while playing TMN I noticed a few people arguing amongst themselves right there in front of us.. the Chan Clan. I couldn’t understand why they had so many issues, why they were in a clan in first place and why they were called the Chan Clan. I asked them these questions and unintentionally pissed them off
I felt bad and as a joke said I would show empathy by starting a clan called the Ooms – “ Over 30, polite, and fairly good at the game” Phelix thought it was funny and we became the Ooms.
Slowly but surely we have grown to 6.5.5 solid members (one is on a ship a lot, the other is in Dubai)
Some others just sort of came and went.
Our whole idea is to be friendly and helpful, intolerant of bad language and bad attitude and of course flipping fast with our cars, rifles, tanks, aircrafts, demo-packs , and other assorted equipment. If you think you meet those criteria drop us a mail and we’ll take over your evenings (see quote below from Oom Fender – couldn’t have said it better myself)
The Members that I know well...
Bytejuggler (now Oom Byte due to character restrictions in TMN) was racing at Klompie’s server one night and I tricked him into becoming a member knowing that he would ultimately become one of our resident geniuses and run a TMN / TMNF server for us (is slightly prone to rambling)
Phelix - another genius does an excellent job of running the website and arguably the most online. Is always available to answer technical questions (if somewhat grumpy on occasion). Always plays the new games first and reviews them for us... we’d be stuck on bf or tmnf only if it wasn’t for him
Fender – the friendly type (but complains incessantly about connection problems and bandwidth wastage on Skype and TS) – He’s always up for a race (or to blow up some tanks) and somehow manages to be in the top 3 most of the time
Gummi – Drinks a lot of B& T (Brandy & Tab.... says the lack of sugar means no hangover) is fast and sociable - is normally top 3 and knows half of the players on TMNF and they know him!!
Aegis – Loves a Friday with TMNF and a 6 pack. Is the first Indian to be called Oom and is frighteningly fast on Speed Tracks! Has been know to stop racing doing 576 Km/h to go and check on his cute little baby girl
(Asked one of the Ooms to do this one for me... and he said I’d better not edit it )
T is like one of the “Young Guns” gang (I am sure you have seen the movie), he will do anything for his mates/buds/clan. You do not want to get on his wrong side cause he will demo-pack your ass and still apologise with a smile after doing it. (Oh and does he love rubbing it in when he beats you in a race )… 2 thumbs up for being a sport T
So there you have it.... we love playing – chatting and basically winning races and matches
I think Oom Fender summed us up quite nicely with the following news article:

After writing this whole long blah blah blah about our general meeting held on 27 October (the first I have been part of) and reading it a couple of times I thought \\\\\\\"dorkess maximus\\\\\\\". It was almost as bad as a grade A+ student writing about McBeth so I thought let me approach it from another angle. Well this is it:
So the old ballies spoke about a couple of interesting and not so interesting things. Now you have to understand you have these personalities in this meeting, the dad that puts everything into perspective, the clowns that make no sense and try and make fun of everything, the I know best, the army seargent, etc. So you\\\\\\\'ve got the picture. Well this is what came out of the meeting:
Yes we are open to applications for new members but you have to:
• be old enough, oldish, 30+, or at least act 30+ every now and then
• be able to play one of the clan games reasonably good, i.e. beat the crap out of us
• be friendly (cocky), with a sense of humour cause we are going to ask you to roll your eyes at some stage
• be available for clan events, unless you are drunk in a bush somewhere and have pics to prove it
• actively participate in forums, chats (I don’t talk a lot), our website and clan servers etc.
So now that you know we want to own your life perhaps you should reconsider.. LOL
One of the things we are going to do is attempt to upgrade our server to a 60, 70 or 80k server so give us all your coppers now, I said now!!!! Nah just kidding ... not. If you enjoy racing on our tmnf server we would appreciate donations in coppers towards the upgrade. We are also going to design tracks (some of us) can you believe this? But we will test these tracks before we just add them to make sure you have the best tracks to play on. We would also (depends if they are good enough) consider adding tracks you design after they have been tested and passed by the ballies/ooms. We are also open to clan challenges if you think your clan could take the ballies on ......
The ooms will be more active with regards to their website (thank you Ph3lix), and our tmnf server (thank you Byte for hosting/running the server). But also to the other ooms thank you for your efforts in trying to entertain everyone else, yes you entertain me every now and then as well. Oh by the way if one of us ban you by mistake we do apologise in advance (got something to do with our age).

PS – for those of you who don’t know, Oom = Uncle
